Status Not open for further replies. I've never had a problem deleting the contents of this folder, but I just realized that the disk cleanup wizard, even if I set it to delete Windows Update files, doesn't touch it.
Which makes me think maybe I'm not supposed to either. Has anyone had any issues? More options. It's part of windows update. Deleting that will make your system unable to rollback updates If you really want to delete it, there's a few steps you have to take.

There's no harm in deleting it early, but you shouldn't really need to. The folder doesn't, and isn't supposed to, hold every single patch ever.

LorDaMan's link is correct about stopping the Automatic Update service after a clean restart before deleting it, but it has nothing to do with rollback. Not exactly positive about 2a-b and not really sure if the Folder will be recreated if deleted but positive about the Contents safe to delete.
Warning to be safe! Best to turn off AutoUpdates first and be sure no Updates are actively installing, delete, then turn updates back on if you wish.
